Sarah Compton
Public Health Program Officer
Sarah is a Public Health Program Officer for the Montana Public Health Institute (MTPHI). In this role she is focused on building the capacity of local, tribal, and state public health organizations by providing technical assistance, policy analysis and communication.
Sarah has over fifteen years of public health and healthcare experience working on building and improving organizational systems to meet the needs of the people that they serve.
Prior to joining MTPHI, Sarah spent eight years working on implementing and managing regional telehealth programs in the Mountain West first for Bozeman Health, a non-profit health system, and then at One Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center. During this time Sarah also became involved in the Montana Telehealth Alliance and served on the executive committee for several years where she built collaborative partnerships across Montana and Wyoming and advised on policy and legislation at both the state and federal levels.
Sarah earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon and anticipates completing her Master of Public Health through the University of Montana at the end of 2024. In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her blended family, practicing slow fashion by sewing and knitting clothes, and enjoying the natural beauty that Montana offers around her home in Bozeman. Sarah joined MTPHI in May 2024.
