Molly Wendland

Public Health Program Specialist


Molly joined the Montana Public Health Institute in October 2024 as a Public Health Program Specialist. In this role, she supports behavioral health initiatives and provides technical assistance to communities navigating crisis diversion.

With a deep passion for public health, Molly empowers individuals to make meaningful changes in their health. Her work allows her to focus on the well-being of the community by addressing gaps in health services, truly fulfilling her desire to make a positive impact in people’s lives.

Before joining the Institute, Molly served as the director of operations for a newly recognized tribe. This role was particularly meaningful, as it enabled her to play a vital part in nation-building and providing essential care for tribal citizens. She is committed to developing programs and services that ensure tribal members have access to the resources they need to thrive.

Molly is also active in leadership roles, serving on the American Indian Health Board and as the secretary of the newly formed Red Shield 8 Nations Board. Through these positions, she continues her advocacy for health equity and the promotion of tribally driven services.

Additionally, Molly has experience leading community initiatives through collaborative partnerships. Her dedication to helping others and creating meaningful change in Montana communities is a driving force in her career, and her greatest joy comes from making a lasting positive impact in people’s lives.
