Jordy King, MA

Public Health Program Specialist

Jordy, Public Health Program Specialist at the Montana Public Health Institute (MTPHI), joined the team in November 2024. He is a part of the opioid prevention initiatives and collaborates with partners to address the unique health challenges faced by rural and Indigenous communities in Montana, with a focus on advancing health equity.

Jordy began his public health career in Durango, Colorado, as a Program Manager for an impaired driving prevention program. This role ignited his passion for public health, leading him to earn a Master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from Northern Arizona University. While in Arizona, he managed opioid overdose prevention efforts, expanded Naloxone distribution, and coordinated COVID-19 testing and vaccination sites across Northern Arizona.

In 2022, Jordy moved to Montana with his wife and is now pursuing a doctoral degree at Montana State University. His research focuses on substance use disorders and behavioral health in rural and Indigenous communities.

When not working, Jordy enjoys exploring Montana’s outdoors with his wife and their two dogs, Red and Roo. He spends his free time backpacking, mountain biking, and fly fishing in the state’s mountains and valleys.
