Hillary Hanson, MS, MPH
Chief Operating Officer
Hillary is the Chief Operating Officer for the Montana Public Health Institute (MTPHI). In this role, she leads the development and implementation of all aspects of operations and provides leadership in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs and services that strengthen the public health system and optimize the health and quality of life of Montanans.
Hillary’s interest in public health began in the field of research but she quickly learned that public health in her home state of Montana was her true passion. Throughout her career in public health, Hillary has built strong, collaborative relationships with partners to address the social determinants of health and health equity. Her work is driven by a commitment to learning from and engaging with individuals and organizations serving the community.
Prior to joining MTPHI, Hillary served as the Health Officer of the Flathead City-County Health Department. She completed her MPH in Public Health Leadership at the University of North Carolina and an MS in Statistics from Purdue University. She has also served as a leader at both the state and national level through engagement with the Montana Public Health Association, the Association of Montana Public Health Officials, the National Association of County City Health Officials, and the Public Health Accreditation Board.
